Colors of Santorini

Santorini- the very name of the place brings to mind the beautiful white-washed houses, colorful doors and staircases, and the deep blue sea which matches perfectly with the roofs, domes and doors of so many structures in and around the area.

This place has been at the top of my bucket list from the past five years and I cannot wait to visit it some day. Santorini has a very cheerful, summery and fresh vibe to it, the colors of this island have stood as an inspiration to many painters, artists, photographers, writers and designers. Today as I was surfing through the web trying to come up with a theme for my lookbook I came across this beautiful picture of the blue and white buildings and I instantly knew what to do.

My very first spring lookbook is themed "Colors of Santorini" and features the colors native to the place- the iconic deep blue and white. It cannot get more summery than this! So get ready to transport your minds to the beautiful southern island of Greece.

The first look - Its classy, Its chic, It is the Little Blue Dress

This summer blue is the new black! This look can take you all through the day and night as well. Opt for monochrome tones as they allow you to accesorise more. Unlike the other summer looks this one gives you the liberty of throwing in some sky-high heels. Here, we have added a beautiful antique Indian neckpiece along with a delicate Baajuband or Arm-band. For the shoes, we opted for open-toed kitten heels in Ink blue and some silver loops for the ears. A sleek pony-tail, a statement bow-ring and a chevron sling bag complete the look. To make it less Indian opt for a good silver/steel watch and pair it with a statement neck piece. If heels are not your cup of tea, then exchange them for some mary-janes, brogues, or ballerinas. Round framed sunglasses in deep brown or black with stud detailing look great with this look. VIEW COMPLETE LOOK HERE

The second look - Its summery, it has shorts and its awesome

The one thing that has been ruling the summer trends consistently from the past year is the CROP TOP. These allow us to experiment by layering them over camisoles or dresses as well. They go well with tailored shorts, pants, chinos, jeans, flowy and short skirts as well. In this look we opted for high waisted denim shorts in deep blue and a white crop top with lace bordering; which gives the otherwise sporty look,a feminine trimming. For accesories we opted for a beaded chunky bracelet in blue/green and a matching blue badge saying "keep calm and carry on." We added a similar sling bang albeit with a floral flap.Blue shades in a spectacle frame and bubblegum pink ballerinas add the final touch.

The fINAL look - It IS BEAUTIFUL, IT HAS BRAINS, ITS THE GEEK-CHIC LOOK

If there is one look that everyone aims at perfecting it is pulling together the two most sort after looks- the geek and the chic. Nothing defines summer clothing better than this look.

In our final look we opted for shorts in the trending Mint color (my favorite) which are perfectly "clashed" with bright peach wedge sandals. A long chain with dream catchers, beads, charms or keychains along with slender bangles in bright colors paired with gold accented bangles make for the perfect accesories. A Multicolored sling bag completes the look. The Hero of this look however are the "Geek glasses" which are a rage from the past three years. We have used bug sized glasses with animal print.
