Now before you start prepping your hair for various masks, treatments and other home made remedies, there is something rather important that you should add to your checklist. YOU NEED TO KNOW YOUR HAIR TYPE!
From many, many years past we have been hearing and trying out the various recipes for getting that perfectly swishy hair. We have heard the amazing benefits of applying Avacado or Mayo to the hair; and about how shiny your tresses get after it. But darling, If you've got oily/greasy hair you'll only end up greasing your hair further and then end up wondering what went wrong- whether the avacado was too ripe or whether you added lots of mayo,or, well the list is endless.
But seldom do you realise- the mask wasn't meant for your hair type!
So, before you plunge yourself into some DIY pampering of your mane this summer break, be sure to know your hair type so that you can opt for solutions which suit your hair needs.
Read on, test your tresses.
It is simple, easy and only takes a minute.
This is called as the tissue test
-Wash the hair a day prior to test i.e, Test to be performed on a day old hair.
-Take a tissue paper and press it on the center of your head/scalp and behind your ears for a minute
-Now check the tissue for oil/grease blots
-If the blots are visibly more and the paper turns oily/greasy then you are the proud owner of some greasy tresses
-If the blots are few in number then you are lucky to be blessed with the Normal hair type. Not too greasy, not too dry.
-If there is no noticeable change in the tissue after the test, then you maybe rocking some dry hair.
Now that all of you have tested your hair type with this super duper easy home test, you can now select your hair care regimen and products accrodingly.
We will be writing soon about the various products and regimen for the various hair types in detail
Till then,
Much love,
xoxo
